Search “patio furniture set with fire pit table” and Google finishes it with aluminum, 8 piece, rattan, outdoor sofa set. Amazon’s Patio Conversation Sets best-seller list contains not one set with a fire table in its top thirty; the class lives in search, where the same seven brands trade sponsored slots. We read thirteen of those listings signed in on 17 September 2026, the critical reviews on seven, and the seller pages behind five, and then we did what the listings do not: we read the fire table’s own manual.
The manual says the table goes on a non-combustible surface with 40 inches of clearance on every side. The listing says “for Garden, Backyard, Deck”. The certification the listings wave is, in the maker’s own FAQ, approval as a decorative appliance that “may not be ideal for use as the main heat source”. And no credentialed outlet has ever tested one of these sets. That is the state of the category, and the ranking below is built on the only evidence there is: the owners’ record, the seller of record, and arithmetic.
The short version:
🏆 Best overall — Rattaner 7-piece, 45-inch 60,000 BTU table: 4.4★/2,048 on a listing that pools only two sizes and two colours, where rivals pool up to 166 variants. $710. The catch: a day of assembly (“a professional handyman 8 hours”), cushions that are not waterproof, and a seller of record with 64% positive feedback.
💸 Best value — Kullavik 8-piece: $459 for two corner sofas, four middle seats, a coffee table and a fire table, 4.4★/2,591 pooled across 24 configurations, with owners on the listing since 2021 — who say the cushions thin and the wicker breaks after a few years.
🔩 The aluminum frame — LayinSun 5-piece: powder-coated aluminum, olefin cushion covers, a 55,000 BTU stainless burner, a maker with a store. $949. 4.4★/396; the tail is cushions that “literally melted in the sun” and a fire-table cover whose knob rusted off.
📈 The one Amazon ranks highest — Aoxun 8-piece, 44-inch table: #14,323 in all of Patio, Lawn & Garden, 4.4★/310 pooled across 28 configurations and three countries, $700. Fades to “a really awful murky green” within a year.
🪑 The swivel rockers — Belord 8-piece: 4.6★/653, the best seller feedback on the page (93%), $1,599. The pool spans 166 variants from a two-chair pair up, and one owner saw rust on the swivels after two rains.
⛔ SKIP — Rattaner 10-piece: the winner’s own seller, cheaper for more pieces, and the tail explains why — four boxes on four days, hardware missing in half the critical cards, seats light enough for “a minor windy evening” to move. 4.2★/454, 9% one-star.

What the fire table actually requires
No listing on this page prints a clearance, a surface requirement or a wind figure. The makers’ own documents do, and we read three.
- Surface. Sunjoy’s manual for its wicker-base propane table: “place it on any level, outdoor, non-combustible surface. NOTE: Do not place this appliance on grass or dirt area.” Outland Living’s FAQ, for its CSA-approved tables: “we must recommend the appliance be used on a non-combustible surface as a safety precaution.” Every listing here lists a deck among the places to put it.
- Clearance. The same manual: “keep the appliance area clear and at least 40 in / 101.6 cm side, back and top clearance from combustible materials… Do not use the appliance under overhead combustible surfaces.” Measure the gap between the table and the sofa in any product photo on this page; it is not 40 inches.
- What “CSA” certifies. Outland’s FAQ: “CSA Approved as a decorative appliance”, and “the heat radius of the appliance is nominal and may not be ideal for use as the main heat source.” The standard is ANSI Z21.97 / CSA 2.41 for outdoor decorative gas appliances. The Sunjoy manual says its table “complies with” it and names no body and no file number; the listings here say “CSA certified” or “meets all American safety standards” and name none either.
- Wind. Outland: “designed to withstand sustained winds up to 31 mph (50 km/h) as per the CSA testing requirements.” No listing on this page publishes a figure.
- The spare tank. “An LP-cylinder not connected for use shall not be stored in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.” The tank in use lives inside the table; the second one does not live beside it.
- The 15-foot rule does not apply. The fire-code clearance people quote for fire pits is for “portable outdoor fireplaces”, which the code defines as solid-fuel-burning. A propane table falls under its manual and your local authority, not that number.
The three failures, and they are the cushions
Read seven critical tails on fire-table sets and the fire table is barely in them. The frames hold. The tables light. What fails is the fabric: “the back cushions are so bad”; “the cushions become completely waterlogged after a rain… still holding water multiple days”; “First set lasted 6mo and literally melted in the sun”; “The black has faded to this really awful murky green color”; “the seat cushions already have butt indentations” at sixty days. Every set here is polyester-covered foam on HDPE wicker, and every set’s owners describe the same season.
The second failure is the box. These sets ship as two to four cartons, and the cartons do not arrive together: “came in 4 boxes and they all arrived on different days”; “missing one full box of hardware”; “One box is missing in shipment.” The third is the day: “It took a professional handyman 8 hours”; “Pack a lunch because it will take you most of the day.” Two fire-table-specific cards in seventy: a wind-guard glass that “exploded” on first lighting, and a fire-table cover whose knob “rusted and broke off” inside a year.
Read those with the base composition in mind. Five of the six ratings pool a size ladder — the Belord’s 653 span a two-chair pair to eight pieces, the Kullavik’s 2,591 span six to twelve — and the Aoxun’s pool three countries. The Rattaner 7-piece’s four variants and the Rattaner 10-piece’s four colourways are the closest this class gets to a clean read.
Who is selling it
Every set here is sold by a third-party storefront, and the seller page is a fact the listing keeps two clicks away. The Rattaner sets are sold by “Rattan artisan”, a Jinhua company with 64% positive feedback on 179 ratings. The Kullavik by “Patio USA”, a Hangzhou company at 70% on 40. LayinSun by its own Ningbo company at 71% on 77. Aoxun Direct at 74% on 1,037, the deepest seller record here. Belord-US at 93% on 165, the best. None of the six brands publishes a warranty for these sets; Kullavik’s store publishes none, LayinSun’s prints a one-year term only on the furniture it sells there (this set is not among it), and four have no site at all. On a set whose fire table is the part most likely to need a part, that is the number to read before the star average.
Best overall: Rattaner 7-Piece Patio Set with 45-inch 60,000 BTU Fire Pit Table
Best overall (the cleanest deep base in the class) · The deepest base in the class that is not a twenty-variant pool: 4.4★ across 2,048 on a four-variant listing, a 45-inch table at 60,000 BTU (about $2.30 an hour at full output), HDPE wicker over welded powder-coated steel. The catches are a seven-to-eight-hour assembly, cushions the owners call neither waterproof nor slip-proof, one wind-guard glass that exploded on first lighting, and a seller of record with 64% positive feedback.

- The class's cleanest deep base — 4.4★ across 2,048, and the listing pools only two sizes and two colours where rivals pool up to 166 variants
- 60,000 BTU is the top of the class; the burner sits in a 45-inch table with the tank inside
- Welded steel frame under HDPE wicker, with 4-inch seat cushions
- 'It took a professional handyman 8 hours to put it together'; 'after 10 million turns of the screws into bolts'; 'It took us seven-eight hours, and we are experienced' — assembly is the tail
- 'The first lighting of the fire pit the long piece of glass exploded. Very dangerous!' — one card; inspect the wind guard before the first light
- Cushions: 'it is not waterproof', 'anti slip cushions they are not', 'cushion covers are very thin and already' worn at four months
- Sold by a storefront named Rattan artisan with 64% positive feedback on 179 ratings; wrong left/right chair parts shipped in one tail
A very long assembly, and cushions that are not what the listing says. 'It took a professional handyman 8 hours'; 'It took us seven-eight hours, and we are experienced with putting together furniture'; 'it is not waterproof and either the furniture covers… anti slip cushions they are not'; 'The cushion covers are very thin and already' worn at four months; wrong left/right chair parts ('three A's & one B'). One fire-table card: 'the first lighting of the fire pit the long piece of glass exploded'.

Why it wins. Its 2,048 ratings sit on a listing that sells one set in two sizes and two colours; the Kullavik’s 2,591 pool six- to twelve-piece sets across 24 variants, and the Belord’s 653 start at a chair pair. The table is the top of the class at 60,000 BTU, the frame is fully welded steel, the seat cushions are the four-inch kind, and 70% of the base is five-star. Set beside a Belord whose 653 ratings span a two-chair pair, or an Aoxun whose 310 span fifteen-piece sets and Canadian owners, a 4.4 that mostly describes this set is the best read available.
Not for you if: the assembly day or the seller decides it. Ten million turns of the screws, seven to eight hours for experienced hands, a professional’s eight; wrong-handed chair parts in one box. The seller of record answers, by the owners’ account, slowly or not at all, and one card describes the wind-guard glass shattering on the first light. Inspect the glass before you light it, and buy it knowing the cushions will not be waterproof whatever the listing says.
Best value: Kullavik 8-Piece Wicker Patio Set with Fire Pit Table
Kullavik 8-Piece Wicker Patio Set with Fire Pit Table
Best value (the oldest listing in the class, at the lowest price)Sold in 24 set sizes and colours on this listing (6–12 pieces) — this card is the 8 pieces, Navy Blue. Check the size before you add to cart.
Your pick if you want two corner sofas, four middle seats, a coffee table and a fire table for the least money on the page, from a brand with a store: 4.4★/2,591, reviews back to 2021. Not for you if you expect the cushions to outlast the frame — five years of owners say they thin, fade and go stiff, and the wicker gets sharp when it breaks.
- The lowest price on the page for eight pieces including the fire table
- The longest owner record in the class: critical cards from 2021 to 2026 on one listing, 4.4★ across 2,591
- A brand with its own Shopify store (kullavik.com), unusual in this class
- 'The seat cushions already have butt indentations' at 60 days; 'the back cushions are terrible'; 'now so thin that I had to put a pillow on top'
- 'After a few years the wicker starts to break apart… the wicker is sharp & cut someone's arm on the armrest'
- 'Glass doesn't fit tables and customer service gives run around for weeks'; wrong-colour covers shipped
- The rating pools 24 configurations from six to twelve pieces; the listing states no BTU for its own fire table; sold by a storefront with 70% positive feedback on 40 ratings
Cushions that thin, fade and stiffen, and wicker that breaks. 'The seat cushions already have butt indentations' at 60 days; 'the back cushions are terrible'; 'now so thin that I had to put a pillow on top'; 'fades pretty bad' despite a UV spray; 'after a few years the wicker starts to break apart… the wicker is sharp & cut someone's arm'; 'Glass doesn't fit tables and customer service gives run around for weeks'.
10 critical read 2026-09-17 of 166 critical on a 2,591-rating base (6%); cushions in 6, fading in 2, wicker breaking in 1, glass fit/service in 1; dates Mar 2021 → Jul 2026; 10/10 Verified Purchase, 0 Vine; variant lines span 6 to 12 pieces. · critical reviews read September 2026
The lowest price on the page for the most seating — two corners, four middles, a coffee table and the fire table — and the only listing here with five years of owners on it. That record is the reason to read it: the first critical cards are from 2021, and they say what the 2026 ones say. Cushions thin, fade, and stiffen; after a few years the wicker “starts to break apart” and “is sharp & cut someone’s arm”. The frame and the seller draw praise. The listing never states the fire table’s BTU, which on this page is a tell: it is a burner in a box, and the box is the value. Kullavik has a real store, and the store has no warranty page.
The aluminum frame: LayinSun 5-Piece Aluminum Patio Set with 55,000 BTU Fire Pit Table
LayinSun 5-Piece Aluminum Patio Set with 55,000 BTU Fire Pit Table (KC5001)
The aluminum frame (a maker with a store, and no warranty on it)Sold in 18 sizes, seat counts and colours on this listing (4–7 seats, M and L) — this card is the 5 pieces, Dark Grey / Black. Check the size before you add to cart.
Your pick if you want the frame that will not rust — powder-coated aluminum, the only one in this roster — with olefin cushion fabric and a 55,000 BTU dual-tube stainless burner: 4.4★/396, from a brand with a real store. Not for you if the cushions have to survive rain: 'completely waterlogged after a rain', 'literally melted in the sun', and the fire-table cover and its knob rusted within a year.
- The only aluminum frame on the page — the owners' complaints are about the cushions, never rust on the frame
- Olefin cushion fabric, which resists fading better than polyester on paper; 55,000 BTU from a stainless dual-tube burner
- A maker with a store (layinsun.com) and a model number (KC5001)
- 'The cushions become completely waterlogged after a rain… still holding water multiple days'; 'First set lasted 6mo and literally melted in the sun'; 'The cushion covers only lasted one summer'
- 'In less than a year, the cover for the fire pit fell apart, the knob for the fire pit cover rusted and broke off and the color faded significantly'
- 'The scale of the furniture is quite small' — two owners; check the dimensions against the room
- Pooled across 18 configurations; no warranty anywhere on the maker's site; seller feedback 71% on 77
Cushions that do not survive weather, and a fire-table cover that rusts. 'The cushions become completely waterlogged after a rain'; 'First set lasted 6mo and literally melted in the sun'; 'The cushion covers only lasted one summer'; 'the cover for the fire pit fell apart, the knob for the fire pit cover rusted and broke off'; 'the scale of the furniture is quite small'; multi-box shipments arriving apart.
10 critical read 2026-09-17 of 40 critical on a 396-rating base (10%); cushions/covers in 6, fire-table cover/knob in 1, scale in 2, shipping/missing washers in 2; dates Oct 2023 → Sep 2026; 10/10 Verified Purchase, 0 Vine. · critical reviews read September 2026
The only aluminum frame here, from the only brand here whose site is a catalogue rather than a parked domain. Olefin cushion covers are the right fabric on paper, and the 55,000 BTU burner is stainless. The owners’ tail is still the cushions — waterlogged for days, covers gone in a season, one set that “literally melted in the sun” — and one card that matters for the fire table: the cover fell apart and its knob rusted off inside a year. LayinSun replaced one owner’s cushions free; another calls its service terrible. Two owners say it is smaller than the photos. It is the frame to buy if rust is your enemy, and the cushions to budget for twice.

The lead that started this page. Aoxun is a badge — no site for the furniture, no warranty — with the best seller record on the page and the best Amazon rank in the class. Its tail is the fastest fade we read (“only been set up since February”; “at a year old it looks awful”), back cushions with straps that hold nothing, and two support bars collapsed inside five months. A twin eight-piece listing under the same name reads 4.3 across 238 with 11% one-star and “Table rusted already”. If you buy the class’s best seller, buy the listing with the better base, and put it in shade.

The premium set of the class, and the one whose chairs move: 360-degree swivel-glide rockers around a square 50,000 BTU table, sold by the storefront with the best feedback on the page. Read the base before the 4.6 moves you. The pool is 166 variants, from a two-chair pair to the eight pieces on this card, so the set’s own share is unknown; the listing calls the frame steel in its bullets and aluminum in its detail table; and the tail is the hardware — holes that do not line up, bolt heads that strip, a week’s wait for missing parts — plus one owner’s rust on the swivels after two rains. The chair that “failed after just 2½ years” is the longest-owned card on the page.

How to pick a patio set with a fire pit table
- Decide the surface first. The manual says non-combustible; a mat under the table on a deck is the floor of what you owe yourself, and the sofa will sit inside the manual’s 40 inches on every set sold.
- Read the seller page, not just the star. Every set here is sold by a storefront. Feedback under 75% on a fire appliance with no warranty is the number that decides what happens when the burner needs a part.
- Price the cushions as a consumable. Every tail on this page is fabric. If the set is under $800, plan on replacing covers; if it is over $1,500, ask why the cushions are still polyester-covered foam.
- Count the boxes. Two to four cartons, shipped apart. Photograph the hardware bag on arrival.
- Inspect the wind guard before the first light, and route the hose exactly as the diagram shows. One glass exploded in this roster’s tails; three of five fire-table recalls on file are a hose touching a hot part.
- If you already own seating, buy the table alone. Our fire-pit-table page ranks tables that carry a maker’s warranty; our conversation-set page ranks the seating without the burner.
FAQ
Can I put a patio set with a fire pit table on a wood or composite deck?
Not by the fire table's own instructions. The one manual in this class we could read in full (Sunjoy's, for a wicker-base propane table) says to 'place it on any level, outdoor, non-combustible surface' and to keep 'at least 40 in / 101.6 cm side, back and top clearance from combustible materials'. Outland Living's FAQ says the same thing for its CSA-approved tables: 'we must recommend the appliance be used on a non-combustible surface'. The Amazon listings say 'for Garden, Backyard, Deck'. The manual is the document your warranty and your insurer will read; a non-combustible mat under the table is the least you should do on a deck, and the sofa is closer than 40 inches in every product photo.
What does 'CSA certified' mean on a fire pit table?
Less than it sounds. Outland Living's FAQ states its tables are 'CSA Approved as a decorative appliance' — not a heater and not a cooking appliance — and that 'the heat radius of the appliance is nominal and may not be ideal for use as the main heat source'. The standard is ANSI Z21.97 / CSA 2.41, Outdoor Decorative Gas Appliances. The Sunjoy manual says 'complies with' that standard and names no certifying body or file number; the Amazon listings here say 'CSA certified' or 'meets all American safety standards' and name none either. Credit a certification when a maker names the body and the file number. None on this page does.
How much does the fire pit table cost to run?
About $1.91 an hour at 50,000 BTU, $2.10 at 55,000 and $2.30 at 60,000, with propane at $3.50 a gallon — a 20-pound tank holds roughly 431,000 BTU, so seven to eight and a half hours at full output. Those are the same figures as our fire-pit-table page, from the EIA's 91,452 Btu per gallon, and Bob Vila's tester measured a 50,000 BTU table within 4% of the arithmetic. Every table here runs on a 20-pound tank hidden inside the table; the manuals say a spare cylinder 'shall not be stored in the vicinity of this or any other appliance', so the second tank lives somewhere else.
Has anyone credible tested a patio set with a fire pit table?
No. We checked Wirecutter, The Spruce, Bob Vila, Consumer Reports, Better Homes & Gardens, This Old House, Popular Mechanics, Forbes Vetted, Good Housekeeping, Family Handyman and OutdoorGearLab. Every hands-on result is a standalone fire pit table (Bob Vila measured propane burned per table; The Spruce and Family Handyman ran tables through named testers). Not one has tested a sofa set sold with a table, and the only page claiming to is a content farm. So this page rests on the owners' record on each listing, the sellers' own pages and the makers' own manuals.
Why does every set on this page share the same complaints?
Because the sets share a construction. Powder-coated steel or aluminum frames wrapped in HDPE 'wicker', polyester-covered foam cushions, and a 44-to-45-inch fire table with a 20-pound tank inside. The cushions are the failure on every listing: thin, faded within a season, waterlogged after rain, back cushions that will not stay up. The frames mostly hold. Buy the set for the frame and the table, and budget for the cushions as a consumable, or buy the LayinSun for its olefin covers and read what its owners still say about them.
Should I buy the fire table separately instead?
If you already own seating, yes, and our fire-pit-table page ranks those: the Bali Outdoors 42 carries a 4.6 across more than two thousand owners and a maker warranty, which no set here can say for its table. A set's table is a no-name burner with no warranty and no named certification, sold at the seating's price. The set wins only when you need both and want them to match.
Have any fire pit tables been recalled?
Five propane fire tables are in the CPSC record, none of them a seating set: Sunjoy's Oakmont (2020, a wicker base that concealed a 20-pound tank, 17 reports of fire), Agio (2006), Ove Decors' Vanessa (2023), Hampton Bay's Cross Ridge (2018) and Insignia and Yardbird tables whose lava rock split and ejected (2023). Three of the five hazards are the same failure: the propane hose touching a hot part, twice traced to how it was installed. The hose routing is the step you perform on every set here. Follow the manual's diagram, leak-check each tank change with soapy water, and keep lava rock dry before lighting.
Update history
- 2026-10-16 — Corrected: LayinSun's store does publish a term — a one-year frame and wicker warranty in the product-page tab of the furniture it sells direct (read 2026-10-16). The KC5001 set carded here is not sold there, so no term covers it; the sentence now says so.
