Pros
- By far the deepest owner base in the category at 1,760 ratings — nothing else is close
- Clean single-model base: no sizes or styles pooled into the number
- Adjustable width and height suit most in-ground decks, and stock is consistent
Cons
- It SAGS at full extension — "the reel will sag in the middle", "when used at full length capacity it is very weak"
- Assembly is the recurring complaint: about an hour, with owners reporting screws and caps that did not fit and needed jerry-rigging
- The tighten screw on the wheel slips in heat, and seller communication is named as poor by more than one owner
Assembly and structural give, in that order. Owners put the build at about an hour and hit parts problems getting there — "some of the screws and caps didn't fit right - had to jerry rig a few things", and one buyer stopped entirely on missing parts. Then it flexes: "the reel will sag in the middle" from an owner who counted the tubes (4 inner and 3 outer, about 42 in each, staggered to length), and "when used at full length capacity it is very weak. The tabs that attach to the cover are incredibly hard to attach as well." Smaller notes: the screw that tightens the wheel "starts to slip" in heat, the crank end sits about 3 in higher than the other because of the wheels, and more than one owner names poor seller communication.

“I was skeptical due to reviews that said it was difficult to understand the instructions, but I found them clear and watched a YouTube video of someone installing this unit, which was helpful. I was able to adjust it to make it wider than my pool to ensure that is rolled up without snagging.”— Tim S, Amazon · Verified owner
