Pros
- The deepest owner base we read in this class by two orders of magnitude, and owners who grill on it are satisfied with it as a grill
- About $144, sold and shipped by Amazon
- Two-level charcoal pan and a side box you can use as a small second grill
Cons
- The side box holds 1.5 lb of charcoal by Royal Gourmet's own spec sheet — enough to add smoke to a grill session, not to run a pit for hours
- Paint that peels on the first fires is the leading complaint in 2026: "Paint lasted 20 minutes", "peeling off after 6 months and only a few uses"
- At 45 lb, light enough that an owner reports wind flipping it over, and owners describe gaps where smoke escapes
- One year of warranty that excludes the paint finish and rust
- Royal Gourmet flags the CC1830S "NEWER MODEL AVAILABLE" on its own store and points to the CC1831S
