Pros
- Cannot tip, drift or float away — it is anchored into the deck
- One critical review in its whole record, a missing backboard
- Half-inch acrylic backboard and stainless rim, salt-system compatible
- Lifts out of its anchor for winter
Cons
- Needs a poured-concrete deck and a 5 in cored hole unless you already have a Dunn-Rite anchor, and the post has to be bonded to the deck grid where local code requires — a contractor job
- $700, and the rim is 14 in rather than regulation
- Order the right post: the 1.90 in and 2-3/8 in versions are separate listings, and one owner had to exchange
- Its 42 ratings are shared by both post sizes
Almost none: one buyer received it without the backboard. The rest of the record describes three summers of teenagers and storms, and a ball that deflates.
