Blue Wave 12-mil Solar Blanket, 16×32 Rectangle (Blue)
Cheaper per season, if it lasts — A plain 12-mil blue bubble blanket, sold and shipped by Amazon, and cheaper per season of use than the BigXwell on paper. Its newest owners are the catch: nine of its ten newest critical reviews (read 2026-10-25) are covers that fell apart inside one or two seasons, so judge it at about $58 a season only if it lasts, and mail the warranty card within 30 days or the warranty pays nothing.

Pros
- Cheaper per season than the BigXwell on paper — about $58 a season at a 2.5-season life
- Sold and shipped by Amazon.com
- 12 mil: the thickness Trouble Free Pool's admin settled on after owning a 16 — light enough to handle
Cons
- Nine of its ten newest critical reviews (read 2026-10-25) are covers that fell apart inside one or two seasons, and 19% of its ratings are one or two stars
- Bubbles shed in one to two seasons, like every bubble cover: "Lasted 15 months." "it lasted 1 1/2 years"
- The warranty covers only delamination and seam failure, needs a mailed registration card within 30 days, and is void above 90°F water
- A solar cover is not a winter or safety cover
- Its rating count jumped from 1,141 to 2,518 in a month on the same listing, so the number may now pool more than this size
The bubbles go first, at one to two seasons, and the warranty is hard to reach: "We bought 8/6/25 - as of September 2026 it is falling a part. The little round air bubbles are coming apart and float on the top water." "Lasted 15 months." "it lasted 1 1/2 years." "Tore in half by the second year of use." On the warranty: "Tried to contact both the seller and manufacturer about the warranty multiple times and did not receive any response."
10 critical cards read (newest first) of 214 critical reviews on 1,141 ratings; a one-to-two-season life in 6, bubble shedding in 4, one warranty non-response. All 2026-05 to 2026-09, no single-batch cluster. · critical reviews read October 2026
