Pros
- Roughly $580 under the Waterway and $1,100 under the Hayward at identical filter area
- Genuinely four elements and genuinely Rx Clear's own listing, not a white-label using the name
- Reemay filter media and an HD-4 all-resin tank, both specified on the listing
- 2-inch ports and 150 GPM, so it does not bottleneck a variable-speed pump
Cons
- One review in six is critical, and the theme is performance rather than the cleaning-frequency grumble that dominates this category
- The most common complaint is that it does not filter: pressure differential never rises even with clogged cartridges
- Two of five critical reviewers received the unit with missing or wrong-sized union o-rings
- Owners report the manufacturer does not respond on defective units
- 35 ratings is a thin base for a pressure vessel you will own for a decade
Reports that it does not actually filter, plus missing o-rings on arrival and cartridges that broke early
6 of 35 ratings are critical (17.1%); two report the filter not filtering at all, two arrived with union o-rings missing or the wrong size, and the newest found every cartridge broken at about two months · critical reviews read October 2026
“Went from a sand filter to this cartridge filter, been using it for 4 months now and it is working fine. Price was good, quick shipping.”— victor martino, Amazon · Verified owner
