Gilmour Rear Control Adjustable Watering Nozzle (5730), Full Size Zinc Pistol Grip
Best budget: four testers' budget pick; Wirecutter's pick for traditionalists, for the price of a sandwich — Gilmour's classic zinc pistol grip: squeeze the rear trigger harder for a harder stream, set the flow-control dial, and clip it open to keep it running. TechGearLab, Good Housekeeping, Bob Vila and Real Simple all name it their budget or value pick, and Wirecutter's has survived more than ten years outdoors. Owners give it 4.4★ across 9,289. The catch is that the trigger valve is a spring, and its owners describe that spring weakening and the casting cracking, leaking or corroding after a season or a few years.
