Solo's 4.8 is across 2,009, but that number pools a bare pit, a with-stand model and three bundles, and roughly a third of the cards we sampled came from outside the United States. On the owner record alone, TIKI is the better-documented purchase. Then you ask what each is made of, and the positions reverse completely. Solo states 304 stainless. TIKI never states an alloy grade for the pit — its own product pages give a thickness, 16-gauge stainless steel with a powder coated finish, and no number after the word stainless, while its patent says only that the pit may comprise stainless steel or another suitably heat resistant material. It prints 304 stainless steel on the tabletop cover accessory that sits on top of the pit. Asked directly on a retailer page whether it would rust, TIKI answered about its powder coating. That absence is real rather than a failed search: Wirecutter, writing with brand access, printed grade 304 stainless for Solo and only stainless and powder-coated steel for TIKI in the same guide. The warranties widen the gap. Solo is lifetime on units from an authorized retailer.
