Pros
- The only pit in this class whose maker states both the steel thickness and the cooking grate material
- Stainless steel cooking grate, where every rival ships an unnamed metal
- Sold by Sunnydaze itself, with a written warranty that needs no registration
- The listing tells you the bowl is 23 in, where rivals sell the outer ring as the size
- Cover, spark screen, log grate and poker in the box
Cons
- 0.7 mm steel is thin — owners who left it uncovered report rust inside a month
- The bowl has no drain holes, so rain sits in it until you tip it out
- A 23 in bowl takes short logs; this is a four-person fire, not a bonfire
- One owner reports the bottom rusted through in under four years, kept under a solid patio roof
- The rating pools the bronze and black colourways
Rust, and how soon — owners report surface rust inside a month when it sat uncovered, and one a rusted-through bottom in under four years. The second theme is size: the 30 in is the outer ring and the bowl is 23 in across.
