Raypak 266K BTU Digital Natural Gas Pool Heater (P-R266A-EN-C)
Most advanced brand & the softest warranty channel — Hayward's closest rival — A 266,000 BTU digital natural-gas heater — the proven Raypak buy (4.0★/169) and the brand pros most often name as Hayward's closest rival. Raypak is also the one major whose warranty language leaves a door open: buy through an authorized online dealer and you can stay fully covered (it invites you to verify the seller), where the others drop to ~1 year or void outright. Raypak's newest AVIA HD line adds a NiTek nickel-coated exchanger ('300% more erosion resistant than copper', Nov 2024) that's the real salt-pool upgrade — but that model's Amazon base is still thin, so this proven 266K Digital is the buy today. Note the base Digital exchanger is copper; for a heavy salt pool, step up to a cupro-nickel or NiTek Raypak.

“This is a nice heater. Requires a 3/4 inch gas line. All the heat is maintained in the heater, the outside doesn't get very hot and there is not a lot of gas fumes. It raises the temp of my pool around 3 degrees an hour and I have a inground 32×16 pool with a 2hp pump. Water flow matters. I love the electric ignition too. It's simple to operate.”— aaron, Amazon · Verified owner
