POOLHACKER 2026 Upgrade 24 ft Round Winter Pool Cover

Pros
- The same published construction as the Yankee Sapphire — 14×14 scrim, 185 GSM, LDPE coating — for less money at 24 ft
- 4.4★ across 1,142 ratings, with 8% of them at one or two stars on the 24 October 2026 read
- Owners consistently praise the fabric itself — "held up GREAT over its first winter", "the cover material itself seems fine, has held up to the cold and wind and snow"
Cons
- The hardware is the weak point: recent owners report the cable and winch missing from the box, a cord about three feet short on a 24 ft pool, and grommets popping off
- No warranty term we can document, and two recent owners say support never answered their emails about a torn or flaking cover
- One owner who bought it twice reports the cable and ratchet system was cost-cut between years, which a rating earned on older stock cannot see
- The rating is pooled across six round sizes from 12 to 30 ft, so it is not a read of the 24 ft alone; it stops at 30 ft
The cloth is fine and the hardware is not. The ten newest critical reviews (read 2026-10-24) are mostly about what comes in the box: "the wire cable and winch were not there", a cord that "lacks 3’ of being long enough to go around the pool" on a 24 ft pool, a rope "three feet short", a cable that "broke as I was covering my pool", a ratchet that broke, and "A bunch of the grommets are falling off". Two are about the cover itself — "ripped the first year it was used", and a second-year cover where "the blue is flaking off" — and two owners say support never answered (stitching torn, "Sent two emails to support with no response back"; "messaged the company with no response"). One repeat buyer says it no longer ships with the pool pillow. The August read found the same hardware theme and an owner who saw the cable system cost-cut between years.
