Pros
- The cheapest way into a real wood or charcoal oven from Ooni, marked down from $349
- The deepest owner base of the current Karu line, at 650 ratings
- Same five-year registered warranty as the Karu 2
- Lightest here at 26.4 lb
Cons
- No thermometer of any kind — you need an infrared gun from day one
- No glass door, and Tom's Guide says it burns fuel a little quicker than the Karu 2
- Gas is a $120 add-on, and several owners bought it expecting gas in the box
- Owners report the folding legs tip easily during assembly
Missing expectations more than failures — the gas burner is not included, there is no thermometer, and one owner's oven never approached the advertised 950°F.

“Love this oven. I highly recommend that you buy the external propane connection. I tried cooking pizza pizzas with the Uni charcoal, and it was quite messy and it took a long time to get the oven up to temperature. Once I hooked up propane, it was cleaner and way faster and I could not tell the difference in taste.”— Verified Purchase owner, Amazon · Verified owner
